Stickers for change
A mysterious, apocalyptic event occurred, destroying everything in the world but stickers somehow.
Jump many, many millennia into the future and humanity has returned to a state similar to today, but with one key difference: countless discoveries of stickers during "archaeological" digs! As a Sticker Preservationist, it's your job to discover, preserve, and find meaning for these stickers. What do they mean? What do they tell us about those who came before us? How can they help us avoid a similar fate? Or will they lead us to the apocalypse we're trying to avoid?
But how?
Alone or with others, you'll shuffle and draw oversized cards from a small deck. If the card has a sticker on it from a previous play session, explain how it fits into the collection you're collectively putting together.
But if the card is blank, it's up to you to supply the sticker! You'll randomly pick one (you have loads of unused stickers, right?) and place it on the card along with your name and some initial impressions about it, and then explain how it fits into your collection. But now you've created something that you can use in future games, too!
If you're playing with other players, once the game is over, split up the pile of cards for later use. Trade them, fight over them, celebrate them! What kind of collection can you amass?
Still in development
This game was created for The Sticker Jam, and I'm so, so sad there weren't like 500 games entered because I have so many stickers that I refuse to use so plz give me excuses to use them with your own games!
Things I still intend to do include:
- Making the second page of the rules nicer (the third page overall): I wanted to use the solo/multiplayer icons throughout there but didn't manage to fit them
- Creating some cards that already have "stickers" and the name/initial impressions filled in
- Potentially some more specific roll tables for things to answer whenever you draw a Sticker Card
- Proofing/editing
With that said, it was created within a 24-hour period and hasn't been playtested yet. But it was a lot of fun to make, and it's something I'm looking forward to working on more! If you check it out, I'd love to hear your feedback :D You can comment below or email me at Beth[at]weirdgiraffegames.com 🧡
