📝 Fable writing game

Imparting Fables is a solo journaling RPG that uses the Second Guess System SRD by William Lentz. In Imparting Fables, you create fables of your experiences, summing up what you’ve learned in your life thus far.  As you roll a d20 and write your fable from the prompts given, your morality will rise and fall. In the end, will you reawaken or achieve enlightenment? Only your fables will tell. 

This was created for the Board Games Reimagined! TTRPG Jam, where we were invited to "create a tabletop roleplaying game based on or inspired by a board game or board game mechanic." 

Snakes and Ladders was the first thing that came to mind. We really liked exploring the ancient origins of this game and the story behind what made the game tick. So, this is what we set out to capture in our TTRPG version.  We go more in depth about that in the Designer's Notes included in the PDF file. 

The game also includes an alternate rule and five optional prompt tables in case you're stuck on what setting, characters, challenges, or objects to include in each fable.
