I Went to Wonderland Once
A downloadable game
About the game
Friends? Check. A couple of dice? Check. Wacky adventures that maybe also lead into life lessons in the most whimsical, absurd ways? Check!
I Went to Wonderland Once is a cooperative storytelling game without points, winners, or losers about remembering your (mis)adventures in Wonderland. You'll roll a die to see who was with you in your memory (the Mad Hatter? Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum?) before rolling a couple of dice to decide your location (Caterpillar's Woods, the Wonderland Maze...) or event (celebrating an unbirthday, drinking something to make you shrink...) and coming up with a story that encapsulates it all.
Creator notes
To celebrate Alice in Wonderland Day, I dove into the rabbit hole and created this! I'd formerly made I Went to Bourbon, Indiana Once and had a lot of fun with it, figuring it would be a blast for Wonderland as well. And I was right, it was sooooo fun!
It's been a while since I finished a game and, on a whim, I decided I'd make a game today. Sure, it's releasing after midnight, and sure it never in a million years would've happened if Angel hadn't gotten all of the assets and layout set up for me, but here it is!
I Went to Wonderland Once, in addition to being a hack of my own I Went to Bourbon, Indiana Once, is also a hack of Lucky Newt Games's I Went to Seattle Once (the first of these games I ever played), which is itself a hack of I Went to Japan Once by Unknown Dungeon (the original creator). It's also highly unlikely I would've thought of it if it wasn't for talking to Angel about what to make, or I Went to 100 Acre Wood Once from Warped Board Games.

This is absolutely wonder full! It's such a lovely spin on the I Went To series, and perfect to play with anyone into Alice in Wonderland (like my own youngling, who's pumped to play this!).
Whimsical and delightful! If you are a fan of Alice in Wonderland and/or a fan of surrealism, you have to give this game a playthrough. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite books and this was a fun way to revisit the story and truly make it my own unique experince. This was truly a lot of fun and gave me so much joy!
You have no idea how happy I am to see this! I have a friend who will adore this, as well!
