Welcome to the Imaginarium Poetical dear writers! Here you’ll find a playground for the mind, inspiration for the soul, and a kindred love for the beauty of the written word.

Imaginarium Poetical uses a standard deck of cards and a series of prompt tables to set you up to write poetry. I've been reading a lot of Austin Kleon's work lately, and he says: "You are, in fact, a mashup of what you choose to let into your life. You are the sum of your influences." I wanted this game to reflect some of my poetical influences. In the prompt tables, you will find many little nods to some of my favorites. I also made a little poster for the back of the zine that includes quotes I enjoy. The poetic devices listed in the zine are ones I have previously experimented with over the years, and I find them a fun challenge to incorporate into my work. 

Inspirations

This was created for @blancisthecreative's #minizinejuly25. July 16th -20th prompt: "Fan Zine".  "This is a type of zine that is all about something you are an absolute fan! Deep dive into something like your favorite artist, movement, or insect!"

I also wanted to make something for the Poetry Inspired TTRPG Jam and the One-Page RPG Jam 2025. I realize this was asking a lot for one little mini zine. But they all happen to work together. A mini zine IS one-page and I'm a big fan of poetry. Beth and I met on a poetry site after all! So, this is a one-page mini fan zine that uses inspiration from my favorite poems to create a TTRPG.
