You'll Need

• A d6 and d10 (a six-sided die and 10-sided die) OR a digital dice roller (like Googling "roll dice")

The Game

Mixing Mascots is a game where you pitch why your animal and holiday combination is THE BEST! A chipmunk for Talk Like a Pirate Day? An anglerfish on Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day? A goat on National Dragon Appreciation Day? Who's to say they aren't perfect for the job?

Each player rolls a d6 and a d10 (or you can Google "roll dice" to get digital dice to roll) to get a randomly assigned animal and holiday (as well as 2d6 for an "accessory" but that's optional). One at a time, each player takes turns explaining why their pairing is THE BEST. Once everyone has had their pitch, everyone votes for their favorite simultaneously, and each vote gets that person a point.

For solo, you simply roll the dice and craft a piece to promote your pairing, then share it with the world. You can write a jingle, make a video, write copy in Google Docs, create a marketing plan, whatever you want! Share it online, send it to friends, hang it in your local laundromat, whatever!

In a two-player game, you can each play "solo together" or use the multiplayer rules, agreeing together which of you did a better job. Can't agree? No points for anyone, do it again!

The single PDF you'll get with purchase includes the full game, as well as pages with one or two tables empty so you can fill them in yourself!

The Hyper 1 HOUR Game Jam

This game was created for Hyper 1 HOUR Game Jam #51 (Surprising Animals), which means we literally made it in an hour! Or at least we tried... it took 2.5 hours Friday evening, and then another hour or so of proofing, touching it up, etc. And both Angel and Beth worked on it together, yay!
