Look! A Squirrel
A downloadable game
Look! A Squirrel is a pocket-sized zine to take along with you during your daily walk. As you walk, look for any of the items on a list of 12. Once you find one, use the corresponding number to find which direction you will head next, and then you turn to the next page for a new list of items to search for. Continue searching until you make it through the lists and discover where you end up!
Remember to stick to sidewalks, trails, and safe streets, and don't go onto private property or down a dark alley of course. It's more important to stay safe, and not get lost!
*Note: if you run into a situation where you haven't found something and you need to make a turn, just turn the direction you feel would be the most likely to find something on the list the soonest.
How Do I Fold It Though?
This video is a great example of how to fold an 8-page zine! It's the video I use personally :D

We had some fun after a nice lunch trying to spot things to lead us to unexpected turns to have a longer walk before we head home. Turns out the zine always pointed in directions bringing us closer to home, we had such a laugh. There were a few things we thought we would not spot, but on our way back we spotted some of them. We also had a fun debate if roses count if their are not blooming yet (we decided no).
Will definetly try it again. Maybe I even try to adjust it to my native language and things I could spot in the city.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I live in a very small town. When I made the game, I walked around taking notes of different things I saw.
I always had in mind to make different versions so that it included more things you might see in different areas. I am currently finishing up some other projects, but if you send a list of things you'd like to see added to a city edition feel free to list them in the comments or email me at cataclysmicknight at gmail.com.

Nice! Any printer friendly options available?
Do you mean printer-friendly like low-ink, or something else? We've created a bunch but not too familiar with what makes something printer friendly, so I promise I'm genuinely wanting to know so we can make things as usable as possible for people :D

I went ahead and adapted it to be more printer friendly by removing the backgrounds and making everything black, white, and gray. I've added it to be included with the other files for download. Hopefully that option will suit your needs. Thank you for reaching out, and I hope you enjoy the game!

Wonderful! That's exactly what I meant, thanks!
