đź’¸ Become a Gaming Goose ($5) or higher on our Patreon before June 1st to get this game for free! đź’¸

This game is listed as in development because it is unplaytested. I have ZERO doubt that the balance is dreadful as I just threw numbers in there in a hurry!

I do have ideas for how to fix this game and I'll be turning it into a zine. If you pay $1 or more for this, you'll get a notification when the update goes out.

You'll Need

  • A piece of paper or a way to take notes (journaling optional)
  • A set of dice (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20)

The Story

Thanks to glorious capitalism, where we spend our money matters. With every dollar, we’re voting for what we want to see in the world. Unfortunately, we aren’t always able to put that money where we want. Whether it’s a cheap item on Amazon or Walmart, or some fast food or frozen meals, we often don’t have the funds to support what we want to see more of in the world.

This is a game of balance. A game of putting your money where it matters while also surviving capitalism.

How to Play

Your goal is to make it through six weeks of spending and earnings. As long as you never run out of money, you DON’T LOSE. It’s up to you how you feel about how you spent your money whether you “win” or “lose” if you don’t run out of money along the way.

You want to spend as much money as possible on the companies and people you want to uplift. You want to minimize your spending on companies and people you DON’T want to uplift.

The Hyper 1 HOUR Game Jam

This game was created for Hyper 1 HOUR Game Jam #49 Buy To Change, which means I literally made it in an hour! WHEW! I highly encourage you to check the jams out 🧡 They're every Friday at 6 pm Eastern, and LĂ˝z livestreams them, including the theme reveal and playing entries after. She's super fun and encouraging and awesome!

Does this mean if you buy it on week 1, it's free on week 5? Or does it mean if you buy it on week 1, because it's monthly you pay again on week 5?

Hi! It means you pay again on week 5. Theoretically every 4 weeks is a month, so if you buy it on week 1 or 2 then it comes up again the next month (week 5 or 6).

When you add all the dice together, does that include the d20? Are you multiplying the d20 by the d20?

(+1)

Yes, you multiply the entire total (including the d20) by 20. I liked that I got an average (USUALLY) of about 35-45 with the full set of dice, and I originally multiplied it by 10, but I like the added variability of the d20 multiplication. Even though that means you might get a 1 or 2 and make under $100...

And thanks for checking it out and the questions! I'm working on the idea of turning this into a zine and guiding players through it week-by-week with added random events and stuff (and flat earnings per week rather than the dice lol) to mix things up more and make it less complicated.
