A downloadable game
You'll need 3d6 plus some way to track your total Energy (currency/score), plus a few different types of objects that are easy to differentiate, preferably cubes. But items like tokens, coins, meeples, etc also work:
- 10 Energy Cubes (I used white cubes)
- 6 Damage Cubes (I used yellow cubes)
- 6 Status Trackers (I used green cubes)
About the Game
As the captain of the spaceship Illumination, your mission is to find Sleeping Planets —planets with dead civilizations— and recover their relics, stories, and histories. Your archival and studies allow them to live on throughout the galaxy.
Nearing a Sleeping Planet, your ship hits an asteroid, barely making it to the planet’s orbit. To repair your ship, you’ll have to scrap what you discover rather than save it. Their shadows will slumber forever, but you’ll survive...
Each round you'll roll and damage a square, then roll to work and salvage what you can. After each round, you'll extract energy that you can use to upgrade your extractor, build Energy Cells to help you escape, and bank your remaining Energy.
You can't possibly lose, but you can win faster or slower! Winning faster requires a balance of luck and skill. Good luck :D
Someone Else Used the System!
The Librarian, in The Shadow Man Cometh, used the Second Guess System and the core system in Their Shadows Slumber! It was so cool to see it used there, combined with the SGS too!!!
You can get it at the link below, along with three other games 🥳 As I add this (June 23rd, 2024) there are also 9,986 community copies, so you can get it for free if you can't afford it!
With that said, if anyone else wants to use this system, feel free :D If you let me know, and it's PG-13 and not hateful and stuff, I'll embed it here like I did with Librarian's Archive 3 :D
Trijam 267: Dig It Up!
This game was created for Trijam 267. The theme was "Dig It Up," which couldn't be a more Beth theme if I tried, so despite being busy as heck I took some time to make a game for it.
Trijam games are supposed to be made in 3 hours (not including ideation, concepts, etc) but I took 6. Whoops! Oh well, maybe next time!

I was just checking my e-mail and saw last post.
I didn't even know it was possible to reply e-mail from itch using the e-mail before it and now I think interesting to find that some of yor games are in those bundles I found on the page of your store here in Itch.
I didn't even imaginated that had a bundle to help people here in South of Brasil, Rio Grande do Sul here. Just watched on tv some days/weeks ago that had near 900.000 people that had to leave their homes and about 15% had no where to go, but most had moved to other places and people back to their homes in some places where the water back down.
I felt like i was in those tv movie fantasy worlds after I saw a house of two floors with only the hoof out of the water. I am very far from where it happen but still surprised.

Thanks so much! LOL I dunno how the replied email went to the game's comments, but Itch is wonky sometimes.
And yeah! I hadn't heard about the Rio Grande do Sul event, but I love being part of charity bundles and I feel like if our games can help charities earn even an extra dollar or two, it's 100% worth it to do some good in the world :D YIKES that it flooded so bad, though, my goodness!
