Fire in the Library: The Books

Note: Angel and I both work for Weird Giraffe Games, who published Fire in the Library, but this is an unofficial supplement made for fun. It is not official, and no art assets from the game were used.

About the game

Fire in the Library is a push-your-luck game about saving books after a terrible fire breaks out... but which books were lost, and which ones were saved?

That's where Fire in the Library: The Books comes in! The first book you grab from the library bag is now randomly named using three six-sided dice (not provided in the original game).

Did you just pull a book out that sounds important, like An All-Encompassing Encyclopedia covering history as far back as The Dawn of History? You'd better not push your luck too much, then, or it might burn! Does it sound like an inconsequential book, like The Nearly-but-Didn't-Happen Staredown to Win a Battle Against Boredom? Push your luck all you want, it's okay if it burns 🔥 

Additional rules are provided for carrying books over between sessions and quickly noting all books saved/burned during play so they can all be named at the end.

Formats

The game files include two formats:

1. Individual Pages: Individual pages for easy reading digitally
2. Zine: A 4-page zine (two, technically, since the game is 8 pages long) that can be printed, folded, stapled, and put right into the game box!

The content of each is identical; use whichever you prefer :D

A copy of Fire in the Library is required!

This supplement doesn't include any of the files that are part of the original game (I didn't create or publish it!) so you'll need a copy of the game.

If you don't own Fire in the Library, you can technically still use this to randomly generate some book titles if you want!
